Everybody
In our last update, we already said that we were working on two last shows with Dries. The first show is scheduled for the 2nd of May in Mol-Wezel(B) at the PC. Other bands on the bill are Teenage Lust, Rhythm to the Madness, Union Town, Rafflesia & Fallen. You can check the flyer here.
As most of you already know, Dries’ final show will be on the Groezrock Festival. We will play on Saturday around 16.10u on the second stage. Needless to say we’re looking forward to this show for several reasons, because it definitely will be one to remember.
Of course, the show must go on so we can give you some more details about our upcoming ep called “Crawl & Reign". This release will feature 4 new songs plus one coversong and will be once again released by GSR-Music. The 7”-version will come out on DRA-Entertainment from Germany. As usual, we'd like to thank all the parties involved for keeping the faith in our newborn band. This release will the debut of Kris on vocals and Michiel on bass.
An mp3 will be online one of the following days.
06.02.2008 - The dawn of a new beginning
Looking back at 2007 made us realise we had by far the most interesting year in the history of this band so It’s easy to remember the highlights of these last 12 months. First there was the new record, then we did the best tour of our lives with the mighty Born From Pain and summertime was all about playing some really cool festivals all over Europe.
Unfortunately, the end of 2007 also brought us some difficult news when Dries decided to quit this band. Difficult for both him and the rest of us, because we know it was a hard decision for him to make. We can't thank him enough for making this band, the band it is today. There's no doubt his presence will be missed. You can read his goodbye statement here.
Nevertheless, this decision forced us to reconsider the future of this band. Replacing the face of a band is not an easy thing to do, but the love for this band and the love for this music and above all the feelings that we still have things to say, motivated us to find a new singer. Those who know this band, know that The Setup has always been very serious about everything it does, so if we thought for a minute we could not pull this off, we would not continue as a band. Therefore, it’s with great pleasure we announce our new singer Kris Deweerdt. Kris used to sing for Officer Jones AHPCP. Him being a longtime friend of the band and having a charismatic personality on stage, convinced us he was the man for the job.
Kris will play his first show on march 15th in the UK.
Everyone who has seen us these last couple of months will know Michiel from Fallen was filling in on bass. It is with great joy we can announce that he will be joining us as a permanent member. He's a great guy and an amazing bassplayer so we're really looking forward recording and writing songs with him.
So it seems we finally have a solid line-up again, we can't wait to cause mayhem across Europe with this line-up. Our first act of devastation will be a new EP we're going to release on GSR Music. The recordings are scheduled for April with a release date somewhere in May. We'll keep you posted about that.
Last but not least, we're working on a farewell show with Dries and you can expect some info on this real soon.
So say we all,
TSU
15.11.2007 - Old Fuckin’ Diver
Hello kiddos,
It's time for a small update from your favorite euros. This fall we have been planning to start working on some new songs. The first riffs are being written and we are looking forward writing new songs. As soon as some songs are finished we’ll be giving them a try live. But that probably will be somewhere in the middle of 2008. Besides that we’ve played some awesome shows in Germany, France and Belgium these last couple of months. Thanks to everyone that showed up, moshed and keeps on supporting us. It won’t be long before the TSU army will take over. Keep it up!
We still have a couple of shows with some amazing bands coming up before the end of the year. So we’ll be expecting to see you guys there and annihilate the pit. Our last Belgian show this year will be November 24th in Antwerp together with Pushed Too Far,True Colors, Autumn Delay and Expect The Recoil . Raise Hell!! We’re also looking forward playing with our buddies from Ringworm and Death Before Dishonor on the Persistance tour in Saarbrücken.
The first shows for 2008 are booked and it looks like it’s going to be a busy year … again! Siked! There are also some crazy tour plans being made for the next year, but nothing is confirmed yet. More info about that soon!
Unfortunately Christophe decided to leave the band and focus on some other stuff in his life. We will miss him in the band. He was with us from the very start and we want to thank him for his dedication these past years. Michiel from Fallen will be replacing him the next couple of shows until we decide who’s going to be our new bass player.
So say we all,
TSU
11.09.2007 - when it rains, it pours
So what they call summer (when it rains it pours..) is gone and autumn is upon us, guess it’s time for a round-up! We played some really cool festivals the last few months (Dour, Hellfest, With Full Force, Ieperfest,…), did a small week-tour in Germany where we played shows with Walls Of Jericho and Hatebreed and along the way finally played some gigs again for our home crowd. We had an awesome time and are more than thankful for the amazing response we got on our shows! You can find some footage of all of this on YouTube and some pictures on our myspace.
Also we need to express our deepest respect and gratitude to Jef and Michiel from Vilvoorde’s metal-mongers Fallen. They helped us out on guitar and bass for some shows and did a more than amazing job! We love those guys! Hail!
So what’s up next? Well, we’re totally stoked for our gig with Sick Of It All at the Muziekodroom in Hasselt! One of those bands that got us into all of this and we finally get the chance to play with them, ace! Praise Heartbreaktunes ! We’re also confirmed to do play the Saarbrücken-leg of the Persistence Tour. We will reunite with our friends in Death Before Dishonour so some high-fives are in order. Furthermore as we head for the new year we’ll be playing shows on a weekly bases in Belgium, France, Holland and Germany, check our “tour-section” or myspace for more info.
Finally, we only got a few copies left of the split 7” with Zero Mentality, don’t sleep and order your copy at myspace merch . You can also find some other shit on that site that’ll make you look hard as nails and some bone crushing stuff for your audio-pleasure.
So say we all,
TSU
02.05.2007
It's been a while since our last update. However a lot of things happened.
First of all, we ended the Born From Pain-First Blood tour with nothing but good memories. This tour was definitely the biggest tour we've done in the existence of the band and we can't thank Born From Pain enough for this opportunity. Moreover, it was a blast hanging out with 37 Stabwoundz, Samaritan and First Blood, because let's face it, you're only 30 minutes on stage and the rest of the time it's all about decent hangouts. Dries is working on some tour-report, so be on the lookout for that.
For now we're in a pleasant "weekend-show"- routine. This Saturday, we play Puntpop with the mighty Napalm Death and Born From Pain and later that evening we're honoured to play the Rafflesia Release show, so needless to say we're looking forward to this weekend.
We're also confirmed to play this year's Hellfest and Dour Festival, so it's nice to see our efforts are paying off and we can't tell you enough how stoked we are to play these shows.
Furthermore, we're working on some new tours, but more news about that in a few weeks.
We also want to thank all the people that already bought Minister of Death. Without you guys, I'm not saying we would be nothing, but it definitely makes it all a lot more fun!
It's also cool we got raving reviews and for those who read Dutch Magazines, there are some features about us in both Aardschok and Rock Tribune, so check it out.
Also, make sure you pick up that split 7" we did with Zero Mentality. Hopefully, we will have some copies soon. Ben Fink from Zero Mentality did a great job on the layout and there's also some nice golden wax for those collectors out there.
Last but not least, we can also tell you that Eye Spy Records re-released the Nine Kinds of Pain mini-cd. It was sold out a long time ago, so if you want to know how it all started for TSU, don't hesitate and pick that shit up!

27.02.2007 - The war has started
Everybody
The Born From Pain/First Blood/The Setup tour has officially started. So good times are ahead. The next couple of days we will be driving on Uk-soil and hopefully we will see some familiar faces. Thanks to all the people that showed up on all our other shows in Februray. It's appreciated.
02.02.2007 - Minister of Death Released
Everybody
After a weekend full of amazing release-shows, one can only be grateful to everybody who made all this happen. It was definitely the kind of welcome every band hopes for so you can all be damn sure we will remember this for a very long time. Thanks to Zero Mentality, Break and Enter, Pushed Too Far, Newgate Potential, Shredder and No Recess for playing on those shows.
To those who missed out, you can find some pictures about last weekend on the following sites:
- kontich pics by Greg Lamarche (www.andram.be)
- kontich pics by Jan Wuytack (www.music-pictures.be)
- brugge pics by Glenn Levecke
So the record is out now and is available in most record shops. Don’t hesitate to order it at your local record store if they don’t have it. The first pressing has an extra dvd included and believe me if I say this piece of art deserves a place in every dvd-collection. We did some interviews in order to promote the new record and we’re also getting our first reviews back and so far it seems people are digging the new shit.
To all the vinyl-Lovers, the records can arrive any day now, so keep on checking this site and Reality Records for this. There’s some cool coloured wax for those who are quick enough.
Furthermore, we’re preparing ourselves for our winter tour with Born From Pain, First Blood and Bloodlined Calligraphy. The bigger part of March, we will be driving across Europe and we can hardly wait to get on the road again. Check the dates in the tour-section.
Last but not least, Demons Run Amuck Records from Germany is releasing a split 7” with our boys in Zero Mentality this weekend. I hope we’ll be able to get our hands on a couple of copies. From the pictures we saw, it’s going to have a killer layout, so while you’re at it, make sure to pick that one up.
See you all soon and check out No Recess. 16 year olds bringing the rage.
So say we all
Andries
26.01.2007 - Minister of Death
Welcome to the brand new website of your favourite band. Thanks to Raf, we could keep this in house, which probably saved us enough money to buy a small van, something we also should consider doing in the near future.
Anyway, 2007 will be a busy year for us. The next 12 months will be filled with lots of shows, weekend-trips and a couple of tours all in order to bring the rage and promote our new record "Minister of Death".
But first we have our two release shows coming up this Friday and Saturday. Needless to say we're stoked for that.
Good bands, good venues, cheap entrances and hopefully some good vibes are what we're aiming for. Hopefully, a lot of you boys and girls will show up.
Last but not least, we can't thank GSR-Music, Reality Records and Soulseek Records enough for all the work they did and all the work they will be doing in the future.
So say we all,
Andries
